Darius Rucker Announces New Album ‘Southern Style’

Since the breakup of Hootie & The Blowfish, Darius Rucker has made a nice career for himself as a country singer. In recent years, he’s even found himself on the pop charts with his version of “Wagon Wheel,” the Bob Dylan tune that was recently rediscovered by Old Crow Medicine Show. Last night, Rucker stopped by The Tonight Show to talk about his upcoming tour and gave us some news that is sure to excite country fans: Rucker will be releasing a new album, Southern Style, on March 31st.

Rucker already released the album’s first single, “Homegrown Honey”, back in August, and the song indicates that Rucker’s perspective might be changing as a songwriter. “It’s a little different for me,” Rucker recently told Rolling Stone Country. It’s not one of those family songs–it’s a real country party song.”

Watch Rucker play “Homegrown Honey” on The Tonight Show below. You can check out Rucker’s upcoming tour schedule here.
