My Morning Jacket Debut New Song, Play Covers-Filled Set At One Big Holiday

My Morning JacketOver the weekend, My Morning Jacket played their first show in over a year as a part of their second annual One Big Holiday at Riviera Maya in Mérida, Mexico. The band played a covers-filled set featuring guest appearances from members of some of the festival’s other acts and debuted a new song titled “Big D.”

Among the songs that the band covered are Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire,” the Cars’ “Drive,” Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” Christopher Cross’s “Ride Like the Wind,” Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You,” and Hall and Oates’s “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do).” The band brought out guests Adam Granduceil of the War On Drugs, Clint Maedgan of Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso.
