Dan Aykroyd And Judy Belushi Launch New Label, Blues Brothers Records

Blues Brothers Records, Dan Aykroyd, John BelushiIn the spirit of Jake and Elwood Blues, Dan Aykroyd and Judy Belushi, widow of John Belushi, are once again on a mission from God—this time to, as Aykroyd says, “find, develop and nurture emerging blues performers” with their new record label, Blues Brothers Records. The new venture, which will be distributed by venerable jazz label Blue Note Records, will be expressly dedicated to the music of up and coming blues artists.

Aykroyd has long been a supporter of the blues, stretching back to when he and John Belushi regularly performed as the Blues Brothers on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s and in the classic, eponymous film from 1980. His further efforts include his founding of the House of Blues chain of music venues with Judy Belushi and his long-running, syndicated radio show Elwood’s BluesMobile. As Blue Note Records president Don Was says, “The incredible contribution of Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi towards keeping the blues alive cannot be overstated.” Blues Brothers Records promises to be a continuation of this tradition.

Blues Brothers Records is now accepting talent submissions. Audio/video links can be sent to submissions@BluesBrothersRecords.com
