Tame Impala has just released an expansive new track along with North American tour dates. At almost eight minutes in length, “Let It Happen” travels through a variety of moods while still managing to capture the psychedelic sound that Tame Impala has gained acclaim for. In an uncharacteristic move the group has opted to include a string section on the track, which most likely hints at the sound of their next record. You can download the song here.

On “Let It Happen” Tame Impala exhibits a hunger and grandiosity found only in short bursts on their previous albums. If this new track is any indication, the record is bound to be an outstanding project that is even more progressive in nature than 2012’s Lonerism. Tame Impala’s newest project is sure to be one of the most important releases of the year, and they will head on tour shortly to begin promotion.
