Pete Townshend and Eddie Vedder have decided to join forces for a cancer benefit in Chicago. Both Townshend and Vedder have a long history working with one another, and this will continue their hot streak.  This is far from the first time that The Who has played for cancer research. Vedder similarly joined lead Who vocalist Roger Daltrey last November with a star-studded lineup that included Liam Gallagher and Rush’s Geddy Lee, which benefitted the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The money raised from the show will benefit teens with cancer at the University of Chicago Medicine. The gig will take place during The Who’s blowout tour, “The Who Hits 50!,” which begins today in Florida. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will open the majority of dates and the tour will surely be one of the most memorable of the year. “An Evening Celebrating The Who” is slated to take place May 14th at the Rosemont Theater. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 21st at 10am and will run you anywhere from $100 to $1,000.
