The Grateful Dead’s Final Shows Will Air On Pay-Per-View

This year, the surviving members of the Grateful Dead are celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary with one last round of shows in Chicago and in California’s Bay Area. If you didn’t buy your tickets yet…well, you’re probably out of luck. However, you don’t have to miss out on the shows if you’re one of the tens of thousands of Dead fans who didn’t get tickets: the band will be airing their final shows on Pay Per View and on another streaming platform this summer.

The band’s Chicago performances, which take place on July 3rd, 4th and 5th, will be available to watch on TV and in theaters courtesy of Fathom Events. The band’s performances at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara will be streamed online. Pre-orders will be taken at Dead50.com starting on May 1st; fans will be able to purchase the webcast for $79.99.

Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzman, and Mickey Hart will be joined by Phish frontman Trey Anastasio for all five performances, with Anastasio filling in for the late Jerry Garcia. Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti will also be a part of the shows.
