Exclusive: Listen To Holly Golightly’s Lush Vintage Track “Fool Fool Fool (Look In The Mirror)”

Holly-2014-1-LargeFor two decades, British singer-songwriter Holly Golightly has charmed the world with her eclectic versatility, smooth, steady vocals, and poignant songcraft. Now, over ten years after her last full-band line-up release, the UK-to-US songstress is releasing her first album back, Slowtown Now!, with her guitarist entourage.

“Fool Fool Fool (Look In The Mirror)” off the upcoming record, releasing this September on Damaged Goods Records, embodies Golightly at her best. Beginning with rattling, old-fashioned percussion and doo-wop vocals fit perfectly for her polished voice, “Fool Fool Fool” could easily be mistaken for a 60s girl-group ballad. Combining the vintage musical style Golightly loves and does justice to, she also mixes in more modern elements, like an understated surf-pop rhythm and overall repetitive simplicity. If the track is any indication of what Holly Golightly’s record Slowtown Now! will be, old and new fans are in for a treat, dripping with antiquated mod, new-wave instrumentation and Golightly’s bubblegum voice.
