The soulful, Louisiana-born Kevin Gordon is releasing his new album, Long Gone Time, this September. Gordon, a poet who received an MFA in poetry from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, structures his songs as short stories with a bluesy tone.

Coming from a background of honky-tonk, blues, rockabilly and punk rock, Gordon has incorporated all these elements into his new album.

Long Gone Time is the product of a successful sponsorship campaign where fans can pre-order the album to unlock exclusive material, a way for Gordon to show his gratitude for their support of his music throughout the years. Like the rest of the album, “Immigrant” has a swampy blues sound to accompany its deep and poetic lyrics. This sound is well suited to his lyrics, showing Gordon to be a first-rate folk-y storyteller.
