Exclusive: Steamboats’ New Track “Magnify” Is Americana At Its Finest

steamboatsToday, “picker-singer-songwriters” Steamboats are premiering a new track from their upcoming sophomore release, Chosen Peace, a follow up to the group’s self-titled debut EP in 2015.

“Magnify” is Americana at its finest and most refined– heavily instrumental, with soaring licks of guitar, mandolin and banjo. Yet, the laden instrumentation doesn’t mask the importance of the lyrics, which cry of a restless yearning for home. “We are bonded by our wandering desire,” singers Nick Throop, Mario Rincon and Jon Jaffee croon in tight harmonies. Later, the chorus chimes in, “City lights magnify the miles I’ve yet to roam/ try if you might because I’m almost there/ I’m on my way back home.” Perfectly in sync vocals against a lush, roots background prove that these men have come together to form a tight knit musical group that understands each other’s strengths, allowing them shine.

Chosen Peace will be released on January 29th, and can be purchased here in both digital and physical formats. Listen to “Magnify” below, and catch the boys at Jalopy in Brooklyn on February 13th.
