Exclusive: Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown Reveals A Stripped Down Intensity With “The Wayside”

Tyler BryantSometimes things are just meant to be. That’s how Tyler Bryant felt when at only 17, he left Texas to chase fame in Nashville. That’s how the young artist felt the first time he jammed with drummer Caleb Crosby. That’s how he felt when before long, guitar player Graham Whitford and bassist Noah Denney came on board and he found his musical family—the brotherhood of the Shakedown.

Today, Elmore is premiering an exclusive video from the band’s studio session, the title track from their just dropped EP, The Wayside. Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown are known for gritty, guitar scorchers, their commitment to full throttle, no-holds-barred rock n’ roll gaining them a cult-like following and landing them on bills with legends like Jeff Beck, ZZ Top and Aerosmith. “The Wayside” is a melodic, introspective slow-burn that shows a different side to the band, with cello, violin and backing harmonies on the chorus adding subtle touches of complex intensity.

In a nod to the title of their EP, Bryant has said, “When you give everything you’ve got to something, you hope it won’t let you fall by the wayside.” But these boys have something special, a spark that intensifies with the chemistry that they share on record and in live performances. The passion they bring rings of blood, sweat and tears, and a little touch of something more. “Music offered us an escape,” Bryant has said, “It gave us something that had nothing to do with money or dissolving relationships, and everything to do with freedom and expression.”

Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown will hit the road with AC/DC as a part of their West Coast tour leg, sharing the stage with the veteran rockers on February 2nd in Tacoma, WA, February 5th in Las Vegas and February 8th in Denver.
