Behind The Lens With Pattie Boyd And Henry Diltz – 4/5 – The Circle Cinema (Tulsa, OK)

44f158b1-c361-4211-b784-96aee1d48b0fAfter a sold-out tour with rave reviews in September 2015, the Morrison Hotel Gallery is extending its interactive photography tour with iconic music photographers Pattie Boyd and Henry Diltz. The artists will return for a 13-city tour starting next month, making stops in California, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Georgia, featuring photographic and verbal presentations by each artist. If the chance to meet two of the music industry’s most influential photographers isn’t incentive enough, signed prints will be offered after each show. On April 5th, the tour will stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma at The Circle Cinema in partnership with The Woody Guthrie Center.

Widely known as an essential fashion model of the 1960s, Boyd was first married to Beatles guitarist George Harrison then later married famous English guitarist Eric Clapton after being divorced from Harrison for just a few years. In addition to her involvement with fashion and fame, Boyd remains an accomplished photographer, most known for her landscape shots and candid photography of her musical friends.

A musician himself with folk-rock group Modern Folk Quartet in the 1960s, Diltz taught himself the art of photography, going on to be widely recognized as one of the world’s greatest music photographers. For over four decades, his work has been featured on album covers and been the subject of many books and magazines. Regarding Diltz’ iconic work, member of English rock group America, Gerry Beckley, says “What he has proved over the decades is the illusive art of capturing life.”
