Kansas Bible Company is a 7 piece psychedelic rock band out of Nashville, Tennessee. The band was founded in 2008 by Jacob Miller, Michael Ruth, Jeff Yoder, Nathan Morrow, James Green, Charles Frederick and Jake Snyder when they all attended Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. And in true collegiate form, the boys put their heads together and pulled their band name from a film they all shared a love for: 1973’s Paper Moon.

Post-college, the guys all went their separate ways, but after a year-long hiatus, they reformed, and moved to Nashville after releasing 2011’s Ad Astra Per Ampere. After the flame was rekindled, there was no stopping KBC, and they put out Surf Rock Trilogy EP, Hotel Chicamauga and Dad’s Day in quick, three years succession. Their fifth studio album, the appropriately titled Paper Moon, will be released June 3rd on Hotel Records.

Today, Elmore is premiering the band’s latest single, “Beverly.” The vocals recall the unique intonation of Elvis Costello, a vibe that’s highlighted by the lazy horns that sway in and out in conversation with the cry of electric guitar. The track takes its sweet time, never hurrying to make its point. KBC delivers an earnest love song with a gorgeous chord progression and soft vocals will send you into a ’60s tinged, psych-rock world of romance.

Pre-order Paper Moon here and give “Beverly” a spin below.
