Lindsey Webster Shares a Sensual Track from her Shanachie Entertainment Debut

If you want proof that we tend to end up right where we belong, look no further than songstress Lindsey Webster. Webster set off on a course for medical school, a radical departure from her upbringing in Woodstock, the daughter of two artists who raised her on Jimi Hendrix, Beatles and Elvis Costello and the Supremes. But soon she returned to her roots, and began to pursue a performing career– a decision that was quickly validated when her original, “Back To Your Heart” hit #5 on the Billboard contemporary jazz charts, and “Fool Me Once” hit #1 on the smooth jazz chart. These successes fueled Webster’s passion, but also proved that the younger artist has serious chops—”Fool Me Once” was the first vocal driven song to top the chart since Sade’s “Soldier of Love” in 2010. On November 4th, Webster will release her Shanachie Entertainment debut, Back To Your Heart, a collaboration with her husband musical partner, pianist Keith Slattery.

Today, Elmore is premiering “Fast and Slow,” a track from her upcoming release. Webster shared, “I am so eager to get Back To Your Heart out into the world! This album is a diverse collection of material and I feel that a lot of my different influences came out in the writing and recording of it. The song “Fast and Slow” is my Chaka Khan/Prince inspired song. I wrote it in about 5 minutes. It felt like it was already written.” The track ebbs and flows with a seductive, sensual energy, keys and guitars popping out of the ensemble throughout. The slow jam is long, but maintains a heady burn, rooted in Webster’s soulful, confident vocals that are sure to get your hips swaying.
