From East Coast to West, and the air waves and TV screens in between, Patrick Joseph is poised to claim it all and then some. Born in Pittsburgh, the singer/songwriter now resides in the artsy Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, where he’s been busy in the past few years, releasing several recordings in his signature, DIY style; he’s a self-made artist, and his chops at producing, recording and mixing his own work earned him the title of Producer Of The Year at the 2015 Independent Music Awards. Joseph has made the festival rounds, playing SXSW in Austin, NXNE in Toronto and CMJ in New York and already, his work has been featured on primetime, with song placements on Gossip GirlThe OfficeChicago Fire, Happy Endings and more.

On November 22nd, Joseph will release his latest offering, Hindsight, via Incline Records. It features new recordings of his earlier work, and though it was created in-studio, the songs were all reimagined with his touring band to create the feeling of a live show.

Today, Elmore is exclusively streaming Hindsight before its release. Joseph notes of the recording, “Hindsight is quite literally that— a look at the past in the rearview mirror, the songs that built my career to where it is now, and celebrating the songs that my fans have gotten to know me by.”

There’s an intense intimacy to album, but even live, Joseph creates a remarkably polished product, pivoting between longing ballads and swinging, bluesy tracks. He has a world-weary rasp that recalls Tom Waits, but his music is melodic and accessible, and is as likely to have you tapping your feet as it is to have you swilling whiskey.

Full-production comes out on tracks like the jangling “Better Off Alone,” while acoustic guitar takes the fore on others, such as “Piece of Your Love,” which Joseph carries off in a voice barely raised above a whisper. “Such A Long Time Ago” gets a sultry, cabaret-style treatment, and from track to track, Joseph remains calm and cool at the eye of the storm, a musical chameleon we’ll surely be hearing more from.
