Congratulations to the inimitable Bobby Rush on his (well-deserved) Grammy win for Porcupine Meat for Best Traditional Blues Album. Damn right: Bobby Rush helped invent the blues. If you haven’t heard it, try this.
At 84, Rush continues to perform his high-energy show, complete with crackerjack backing band and twerking backup singers. Not only does Rush deliver one of the best shows on any circuit, he one of the nicest guys on the planet, and definitely the sexiest octogenarian.
Catch him live, before he realizes that some people actually retire.
