Heart: Live at Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

(Eagle Rock Entertainment)

81NKSn+6plL._SL1417_London’s Royal Albert Hall was sold out one evening in June of 2016. Why? Seattle’s Heart jumped the pond to made their debut appearance at the venue, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nick Davies.

Heart plays the stuff that audiences want to sing along to, like “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” a Led Zeppelin cover, and highlights tracks from their 16th studio album, Beautiful Broken, which was released just after the taping of this show. Live at Royal Albert Hall features an extensive collection of songs by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, who never fail to bring immense talent to the stage with the Heart family (Craig Bartock, Dan Rothchild, Chris Joyner, Ben Smith). Adding in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is the epic cherry on top of what was certainly an evening to remember.

The aerial shots, looking in on the show from the very back of the legendary hall, are nothing short of amazing. The crowd, the beautiful interiors, the band surrounded by all of it. That London audience may have experienced one of the best live concerts ever. Too bad it had to be released on DVD and make the rest of us jealous.
