Anders Parker Premieres his Out-Of-This-World Video for “The Man Who Fell From Earth”

Anders Parker

Varnaline, Anders & Kendall, Space Needle, Gob Iron. Indie, folk, experimental, rock. These are the many faces and genres make up songwriter/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Anders Parker. But now, with the April 14th release of his latest full length record, The Man Who Fell From Earth, he’s just Anders Parker, a man who’s explored much through his two decade music career, and is ready to reflect back on that exploration. A man ready to strip down to the essentials– vocals, strings, pedal steel, acoustic guitar. A man ready to set his next chapter to record.

Today, Elmore is premiering the video album’s title track, “The Man Who Fell From Earth.” The video balances shots of Parker performing in dark red room decked in fairy lights with clips from Georges Méliès’s 1902 silent film, A Trip to the Moon and other space-age imagery. It’s a dreamy, nostalgic concoction that compliments his lightly husky voice and the ever gentle strum of acoustic guitar. “I’ve always loved all the early film from the space program,” Parker says. “Still feels exciting and cosmic and vaguely psychedelic. There’s a beauty in the low-fi-ness of it.”
