It’s no big coincidence that Eileen Carey’s latest series of singles were recorded at a studio in Los Angeles called Nashville Tracks. That’s just Carey—a little bit cosmopolitan, a little bit country, a true musical chameleon, blending pop and rock and country influences with ease. Fans have recognized Carey’s star-quality for years, but now the critics are starting to take notice as well. The California based artist won the Producer’s Choice Award for 2016 Female Country Artist of the Year at the Los Angeles Music Awards, and was named 2017 Crossover Artist of the Year by New Music Weekly, which followed up on her win as Country Breakthrough Artist of the Year at 2016’s NMW Awards.

Today, Elmore is premiering “Good Bad Girl,” a track written by Alan Bonhomme and Kris Bradley and produced by Travis Allen. Carey says of the single, “It’s perfectly fine for a girl to have a little mystery in her personality. We all have within us a little angel and a little devil. Most of the time, I play nice. But “Good Bad Girl” lets me show my more adventurous side.” Carey has an infectious energy that shines on the upbeat country-pop stomper. “I’m a little bit Tennessee Honey, mixed with a little bit of gasoline,” she croons with wink, letting her warm twang slide into the choruses and come down hard on the cheeky punch lines. Like many of us, Carey may be good and bad and salty and sweet, but one listen proves that her new single is all head-bobbing,  fun.

Catch Carey at the Mint on Thursday, April 13th at 9:30pm, opening for Jack Broadbent (tickets) and at BLVD3 on Thursday, May 18th at 7pm (tickets). Head to her website and Facebook to stay up to date on soon to be announced West Coast tour dates. Read Carey’s musings on life, music and motherhood in her new blog, The Music Mom.
