An eleven-track, self-penned, self-named release from the Mississippi-born Texan, featuring confident song-writing, guitar-work and a voice that brings back memories of early Randy Travis; a heady mix that bodes well from the opening track and which Eady manages to retain and sustain till the last, closing track with apparent ease. This is a quality Americana-Country offering that should readily appeal to fans of the ever-expanding genre.

By my rough reckoning, this is Eady’s sixth release, full of harmonic craft and melodies that fit together delightfully. Eady’s song-writing is pared down at times but in many ways rolls along with shades and hints of the influence of the late Guy Clark, another Texas writer with a keen eye and ear for a finely honed melody and lyric. Tammy Rodgers from the Steel Drivers adds some fiddle fun while Americana-country fretboard wonder Vince Gill also guests bringing his usual, blistering ability and punch to the project.

This is a top quality release with great rockin’ country Americana of some distinction at its heart.
