April Verch, woman on the move

Fiddler, singer, dancer to appear at Brevard Music Center

One of the most esteemed fiddlers of her generation, April Verch offers a stirring mix of bluegrass, country, regional Canadian and Americana music, complete with vocals and stepdancing. Onstage, Verch stepdances while fiddling, sings while stepdancing and sometimes sings, steps and fiddles all at once, with precision and apparent ease. Verch is definitely a woman on the move.

Her February, 2017 release, The April Verch Anthology, features a selection of 1998-2015 recordings and two newly-recorded tracks. The multi-talented performer keeps good company: her CD features the talents of bluegrass greats Mac Wiseman and Bobby Hicks, Newgrass pioneer Sam Bush, old-time master Dirk Powell, and Travis Book, of Infamous Stringdusters, among others.

Verch is appearing at festivals and performing arts centers worldwide in support of the album, and July 18 will appear at the Scott Concert Hall as part of the Brevard Music Center summer festival, just outside Asheville, NC. Prepare to be amazed.
