Home field advantage for this worldwide happening: Asbury Park, NYC and Philly host Light of Day Winterfest this Jan. 5-15.

This is destination event, folks. Buy the best package you can, book a hotel or commandeer a couch, ingest a lot of caffeine and prepare to rock for days.

Unannounced performances are no surprise at LOD: Bruce Springsteen has played in 11 of the previous 17 years, and other appearances have included Michael J. Fox, John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls), Darlene Love, Ed Kowalczyk (Live), Jakob Dylan, Suzanne Vega, Max Weinberg (E Street Band/Conan), Lucinda Williams, David Bryan of Bon Jovi, David Bromberg, Alejandro Escovedo, Pete Yorn, The Smithereens, Peter Asher, Chuck Prophet, Joey Molland (Badfinger), Gary U.S. Bonds and Southside Johnny.

The first wave of scheduled acts to be announced include Albert Lee, Greg Kihn, Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers, Willie Nile, Garland Jeffreys, James Maddock, Joe D’Urso and Stone Caravan, Billy Hector, Bobby Bandiera and his popular Tom Petty tribute, Jeffrey Gaines, Christine Martucci, Bruce Tunkel, the Slyders, Sandy Mack Allstars, Kyle Ward, Colossal Street Jam, Taylor Tote, and Billy Walton. More acts will be announced as the festival approaches.

Don’t complain you can’t get Bruce on Broadway tickets, do some good and rock out to oust Parkinson Disease. Last year’s event raised $555,000 to combat Parkinson’s, with the 17-year total approaching $4.5 million.

We can do this…And it will ROCK!
