Vocalist and guitarist Andrew Fullerton and banjo player Matt Orlando, the core duo of the eccentrically-named Indie Americana band Who? What? When? Why? & Werewolves? have been playing together for 15 years. Influenced by everything from Doc Watson, John Prine and Todd Snider to Tool and Incubus, their debut release, Greatest Hits, champions the stories of everyday people trying to make their way in this crazy life.

The album also marks a genre shift for the pair. The two sing like brothers, and now, with the addition of Pete Clark on fiddle and Brian Grabski on bass, the band leans heavily towards progressive bluegrass and indie Americana, in part to better showcase the albums’ lyrical content—a collection of stories about everyday people with interesting stories to tell.

Fullerton described the song for Elmore. “Tell Me A Secret” was the last song to come together for the record. It’s a swampy front-porch-psychedelic-gospel tune. We were referencing the Black Keys and The Band a lot I think we found a middle ground between those two influences on this song. The song is all about little wishes we make and little secrets we keep. Quitting smoking, getting to hash it out with “the one that got away.” I did actually quit smoking for real after I wrote this song.”
