Illumination Road has paved a new route for “bands” to create. Consisting of established songwriters, producers, multi-instrumentalists, filmmakers and engineers, the four-piece group works from their 140-acre Escape Ranch in historic Pioneertown, California. With their own production company, recording studio, record label and endless natural film sets, these multi-talented artists create finished content directly from the Ranch.

In conventional bands, each member plays a particular role (or two), whether singer and songwriter or guitarist and keyboardist, etc. Illumination Road vertically integrates the music and its realization. Producer, guitarist, bassist and engineer, Chad Shlosser hosts the Escape Ranch’s studio where the band creates all of its catalog. Producer and drummer Michael Johnson, a world-touring musician of platinum acts, also produces records and scores award-winning films.

Lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Chris Ayden combines his love of blues and classic artists like the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley with the modern aggression of new rock. Multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, Hammond, piano and Rhodes) Greg Cahill’s many musical talents defines the sound of the band, with hints of classic folk, Americana and soul.

The four call upon today’s changing world for their songs’ inspiration, and combine a hard-hitting first set of songs with a collection of stunning music videos.

Chad Shlosser told Elmore, “This cut, ‘It Looks Like They Got To You (Too),’ is the smashing yet groovy second single. Following the story line from the first single, where we’re introduced to ‘The Modern World,’ we’re now feeling the effects of this new way of life and how it’s cutting to the core of all of us.”
