Joe Louis Walker – Blues Conspiracy: Live on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues CruiseWOW, what a cruise! I felt like I was sitting in my lounge chair with the great guitar master Joe Louis Walker singing and playing right in front of me. After a few minutes, I couldn’t help but get up and start dancing.

Joe chose 11 songs from the cruise, including talented blues singers like Tommy Castro, Johnny Winter, Kenny Neal, Tab Benoit, Duke Robillard and Nick Moss. These talented musicians joined Walker on several cuts, jamming on blues classics like “You’re Gonna Make Me Cry,” “Eyes Like a Cat,” “Sugar Mama” and “747.” Walker really got down to the nitty gritty to make the strings talk with his great slide guitar. Joe is anything but self-centered; he never overpowers his guests and lets everybody show off their own talent.

I wish I could have been there, but thankfully I can just pop in this powerful CD and cruise away.
