It’s been seven years, but the rock star who charmed you with her “Bad Reputation” is back with a new album. This new, 10-song album, the follow-up to 2006’s Sinners, will feature guest artists Dave Grohl and Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! Unvarnished will be the 14th studio album from Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.

Jett digs deep in this one; with songs about topics like the death of her parents and Hurricane Sandy, Jett says this album is her most autobiographical work. “It’s a real band album. Everybody was involved,” Jett said in a statement.

Jett and her Blackhearts will be giving a sneak peak of their album on Aug. 8 on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they’ll debut their first single from the album, “Any Weather.” Unvarnished is set for release on Oct. 1.
