Frank Turner – ‘The Third Three Years’

UK folk-punk singer Frank Turner is releasing The Third Three Years, a compilation of non-album rarities.

The compilation covers a period in Turner’s career during which his album Tape Deck Heart became a huge hit in his native UK and his live performances included a sold-out show at Wembley Arena and a performance during the London Olympics Opening Ceremony.

The compilation includes live songs, demos, tracks from tribute albums, radio and iTunes sessions, and more. In addition to his original songs, Turner includes covers of Queen, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney & Wings, Townes Van Zant, Bruce Springsteen, and even Noel Coward, among others, on the comp. Most of the performances are stripped back and acoustic, though Turner’s full band, the Sleeping Souls, do appear on the compilation closing “Dan’s Song.”

The Third Three Years will be released by Xtra Mile Recordings on April 14. Listen to “The Way I Tend to Be” below:
