Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor have arrived just in time to bring you some Christmas cheer. No, this isn’t a holiday DVD, but it was recorded live on Christmas Eve 1975 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. If you didn’t get to experience it in person that day (or simultaneously on BBC TV and radio), the tour now stops in your living room to bring you up close during one of the most eventful moments in Queen’s illustrious run.

A Night At The Odeon brings all of Queen’s classic hits to life, as well as a few rock n roll covers. Bonus items include songs recorded live in Tokyo at the Budokan on May 1st, 1975, and a 22-minute documentary looking back on the Odeon.

Queen’s A Night At The Opera was the most expensive record ever made at that point in history, and the Odeon show was the last stop on their subsequent tour. Anyone who has ever been to a Queen show knows that it’s all about the performance– showing the audience the best time possible. Fans in attendance must have agreed, as this show was heavily bootlegged in years following. Now, here it is- completely official with new audio mixes and video restoration.

This is one for the collection.
