Tom Forst, a former Vice President at major cable TV company Cox Media (hence “The Suit”), left his day job at 57, quitting the day after paying his youngest child’s last college tuition bill. It was time to return to his first love: music. “Not the soundest financial decision I ever made,” Forst said with a laugh. “But I’ve never looked back.”

The ex-exec/now blues-rock singer-songwriter Tom The Suit Forst has been inducted into both the CT and NY Blues Hall of Fame. Performing as many as 200 shows a year with his band and additional solo/special guest performances like this one with Beehive Queen Christine Ohlman. Forst has toured the United States and China, and plans to resume his Stateside shows ASAP and his next China tour in the Fall of 2020. His five-song EP titled World of Broken Hearts was released on February 14, 2020, and he hosts a popular blues podcast, Chasing the Blues.

“Everything is Falling” features an outstanding performance by powerhouse vocalist Christine Ohlman, affectionately known as “The Beehive Queen.” A longtime vocalist with TV’s Saturday Night Live band, she leads her own Christine Ohlman and Rebel Montez band and appears annually at the W.C. Handy Music Festival. Ohlman said, “This song has a depth that attracted me as a soul singer…it was a joy to record.”

Tom The Suit Forst told Elmore,”When I wrote the song, I was getting over the loss of my first love, when the world was heavy on my shoulders; it’s about going through difficult times and trying to see the light on the other side.

“What a thrill to feature an artist as soulful and iconic as Christine Ohlman in a song that I wrote when I was seventeen years old. Performing with her in the video was also very special for me—her aura is truly luminescent.”

Directed by Marc Alan and John Shlyoski, the same team on Forst’s earlier video “Late Night Train,” “Everything is Falling” was filmed at the historic Wall Street Theater in  Norwalk, CT.

When he is not recording, touring, or podcasting, Tom Forst works with organizations such as Big Brothers of America, and has championed the causes of female empowerment and child education.
