When life is Split At The Seams...sing!

Carrie Clark and her band The Lonesome Lovers craft their own distinct flavor of modern pop honkey-tonk with warm, in-the-pocket confidence.

Clark herself  began her music career early, and has had success in an indie pop ensemble, a folk duo, and a jazz big band between 2006 to 2016. For the next five years, Clark lived her life as Carrie the Momma instead of Carrie the Musician, but her creativity never dimmed.

Split At The Seams, written by Clark at home over the last five years, is laced with reflections on motherhood, the passing of loved ones, the struggle against institutionalized misogyny and the yearning for a true home—subjects both highly personal yet broadly universal.

Finished just as the world shut down and set for release just as things reopen, Split At The Seams seems perfectly timed. If the album is mosaic of the whirlwind reality we’ve all be living through, and of this cut, “Polaroid Pictures,” Clark told Elmore “Our world is fast, frenetic and full of digital imagery. I wrote this song feeling nostalgic for Polaroids and the feeling of anticipation while you watch the colors and images slowly come into focus, giving you a moment captured that you can hold in your hand. “
