Dudley Taft has been a mainstay in blues-rock for over 20 years now. Whether with his old band Sweet Water or on his own, Taft’s singular prowess on the guitar has been a welcome sound for music fans. Dudley’s solo career has been going strong for some time now, and his latest album, Screaming In The Wind (out May 20th on American Blues Artist Group), could be his best work yet. It’s a thrilling collection of hard-driving blues augmented with the appearance of Stevie Ray Vaughan keyboardist Reese Wynans, but the focus remains, as always, on Taft’s guitar.
The first taste from Screaming In The Wind comes with the album’s title track, an eerie, stomping blues-rock number with virtuoso performances from Taft on guitar and on vocals. The video for “Screaming In The Wind” amps up the eeriness of the song, featuring Taft in black and white as he shreds in a cemetery. You can check out the video for the song below:
