English Beat Set to Release Entire Catalog in 5-Disc Box

The English Beat’s entire discography will be released in a five-disc box set entitled The English Beat: The Complete Beat on July 10 from Shout! Factory. The box set features all three of the Beat’s studio albums, complete with bonus tracks; two discs of bonus material (most of which has never been released on CD —including three sessions recorded with the legendary John Peel for his show on BBC Radio 1, tracks from a live show recorded at Boston’s Opera House, and 12” and dub versions of some of the band’s biggest singles —and a booklet with rare photos and an essay by music scholar Alex Ogg.

On the same day, a new single-disc compilation, Keep the Beat: The Very Best of the English Beat will be released as well, and includes an introduction written by Rhoda Dakar of the Bodysnatchers.

Formed in 1978, the band performed at the 27th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio on April 13. They are also currently on tour. (For tour dates, click here.)

Fans purchasing the box set on Shout! Factory’s website will also receive the first ever release of The English Beat: Live at the US Festival, a two-disc CD/DVD set, as part of Shout! Factory’s new line of US Festival releases. To preorder, click here.
