Beatles’ Fan Footage Documentary in the Works

If you have some footage from a 1960s Beatles concert, then you can be in the new Beatles movie. Well…at least your footage can. The new film, titled The Beatles Live!, will feature images, music, stories and interviews that piece together the story of the 250 shows that the band played in 116 cities between the fall of 1963 and the summer of 1966. And of course, the movie will be using fan footage. The production company OVOW (“One Voice One World,” which references the Beatles’ final live performance in the “Our World” broadcast in 1967) has put out the call for any amateur or professional-shot concert footage of the band during their tours in the 1960s. The company has started the impressive endeavor of gathering material for the film. OVOW will be reaching out to archivists, collectors, fan clubs, film restoration-experts, academics, writers and various Beatles fans to help research the popular band. You can check out how the project is progressing and submit your own Beatles tour footage on the website.
