Heart – Strange Euphoria (Epic/Legacy)

Artist:

Album:

Label:

Release Date:

Four decades and 13-studio albums later, Seattle’s favorite rock sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson’s  Strange Euphoria is literally filled with Heart. The deluxe box set (three compact discs + one DVD = priceless hours of never-heard-before demos and rarities.

The three CDs offer the listener an exhilarating adventure through Heart’s illustrious career beginning with the 1970s hits “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” “Barracuda, “Straight On,” and “Even It Up.” As the quartet continued to flourish, their music could be heard the top of the charts during the ‘80s and well into the ‘90s with tracks: “These Dreams, “Alone,” and “Never.”

On a different note: an enjoyable addition to this band’s retrospective collection is a 57 minute DVD:  The Second Ending featuring Heart recorded circa February – March, 1976 for KWSU-TV. Translation, Strange Euphoria, exposes your (musical) senses to a plentiful potpourri of raw fundamental arrangements, that will leave you feeling, musically satisfied—and that’s a good thing!
