Joe Fletcher is one of our favorite new musical discoveries. With his band The Wrong Reasons, the former high school English teacher presents a liquor-soaked take on Americana that’s equal parts Jay Farrar and George Jones. By himself, though, Fletcher can be just as powerful. We saw him do a solo set at this year’s AMA conference, and it was easily one of the highlights of the week. We’re going to be seeing him again as October opens with a Joe Fletcher performance at New York’s Mercury Lounge. Band of Heathens may be the headliner, but trust us: you’re going to want to get there early for the opening act.
