Who would have imagined that Sixto Rodriguez would end up performing on one of the most famous stages in the world at this point in his life? Certainly not Rodriguez himself; the singer/songwriter seemed happy living in obscurity for years after his two albums made little commercial impact in the 1970s. Still, he managed to reach a very devoted fanbase, one that has only gotten larger since the release of the Oscar-winning documentary Searching For Sugar Man. It’s always wonderful to see an artist get recognition for producing great work, even if that recognition is delayed for 30 years. Come make a new discovery.
