Billy Joel Takes Up Residency At Madison Square Garden

Billy Joel Madison Square GardenBilly Joel has a special connection to Madison Square Garden; the Long Island native has performed at the World’s Most Famous Arena 46 times, and his 12-night stand at the venue in 2006 earned him a banner in the Garden’s rafters. Now, he’s set to play there a lot more as the Garden’s first ever “music franchise.” Starting January 27th, Joel will perform every month at the Garden for the forseeable future.

“Performing at Madison Square Garden is a thrilling experience,” Joel said at the announcement of his new franchise. “I’ve played different venues all over the world, but there’s no place like coming home to the Garden.”

The announcement caps off a banner year for Joel, who is due to receive the Kennedy Center Honors later this month. The first for “Billy Joel At The Garden” shows have already sold out.
