Glen Campbell Moved To Alzheimer’s Facility

Glen Campbell AlzheimersCountry legend Glen Campbell has reportedly been moved to an Alzheimer’s treatment facility indefinitely. A spokesperson for Campbell confirmed the news to Rolling Stone, saying that Campbell’s condition “has progressed enough that we are no longer able to keep him home.” “He is getting fantastic care and we get to see him every day,” Campbell’s family said in a statement. “Our family wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers, love, and support.”

Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011, and he revealed the diagnosis in the press then, initially as a warning to fans in case he forgot lyrics or chords in future live performances. Despite his condition, Campbell remained quite busy over the past few years, releasing two albums and touring constantly. Performances for his farewell tour were documented for the film Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me, which features interviews with the many, many musicians that were inspired by Campbell’s long career in music.
