Morrissey Sued By Bodyguard Claiming Singer Wanted To “Hurt” Fan Site Owner

Morrissey lawsuitMorrissey’s troubles are continuing: now, the singer’s former bodyguard is suing the singer and laying out some fairly serious accusations. According to a report in TMZ, Bradley Steyn filed a lawsuit against the Moz claiming that the singer and his manager tried to get Steyn to “hurt” the operator of the popular fan site Morrissey-Solo.com.

Steyn told TMZ that Morrissey hated the fan site and thought that it “invaded [his] personal life.” Morrissey then inquired if Steyn could hurt the proprietor of the site. Steyn further alleges that Morrissey’s tour manager openly discussed “getting rid of” the fan site’s proprietor and that he was seriously looking into getting the person’s address. After Steyn refused to get involved, according to the lawsuit, he was fired.

This is the latest in a series of problems that Morrissey has encountered in 2014. The singer was supposed to be on tour promoting the release of his new album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business, but he had to cancel the tour early in June after falling ill with a respiratory infection. He then got into a very public spat with his opening act, Kristeen Young, after claiming that Young got him sick.

UPDATE: Morrissey has responded to Steyn’s allegations via a statement on fan site True To You. In it, Morrissey calls Steyn’s accusations “a vexacious lie” and said that Steyn’s statement “is in the hands of the Los Angeles Police Department, and is now subject to criminal and civil prosecution.”
