It doesn’t seem so long ago that Bethany Cosentino was playing in warehouses and living rooms, but her music has come a long way since those days. This year, Cosentino is releasing California Nights, her latest album under the Best Coast moniker, and the album might be her most sonically muscular work yet. If “Heaven Sent” is any indication, the album could also mark a considerable shift in style for the band: while we knew that Cosentino was a fan of pop-punk, “Heaven Sent” is the closest she’s ever come to flat-out writing a Blink-182 song. Still, we’d rather listen to her voice than that anyone in Blink-182. You can check out the lyric video for “Heaven Sent” below.
California Nights comes out on May 4th.
