Drive-By Truckers – 09/19 – Showbox at The Market (Seattle, WA)

drive by

Drive-by Truckers is a Southern American band founded by singer/songwriter/guitarists Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood in 1996. The other members that make up the band include bassist Matt Patton, keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Jay Gonzalez and drummer Brad Morgan. The band has always had this progressive fire in their belly that flared delightfully with every piece of work they created, but with their newest album, American Band, they have made the most explicitly political album in their extraordinary canon.

American Band is a powerful and provocative album that only speaks on matters that matter. It’s a masterpiece that will surely shock new fans and even old fans, stirring up a newly found flame in the band’s entire audience. Being the unique and out-of-the-norm songwriters that they are, Cooley and Hood creatively explore such pressing issues as race, income inequality, the NRA, deregulation, police brutality, Islamophobia, and the plague of suicides and opioid abuse. Fueled by a just spirit of moral indignation and righteous rage, American Band is protest music fit for the stadiums and designed to raise issues. You can catch Drive-By Truckers at the Showbox at The Market in Seattle, WA (tickets can be purchased here). If you can’t catch them on this day, be sure to check out the other tour dates below:
