Jimmie Vaughan is such a good guitarist that he headlined the venerable Iridium (long the home of electric guitar inventor Les Paul and his signature Gibson Les Paul model) playing a Telecaster. Jimmie, big brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and a legend in his own right, held his own for two long sets which culminated in a guest performance with Steve Miller and Ricky Gordon. Eric Krasno (Soulive) and Conan O’Brien’s Basic Cable Band and Fab Faux leader Jimmy Vivino were also in the house, along with other aficionados who chose just to listen. And why not? Vaughan killed until the wee hours.
