Albert Castiglia: “Bring On The Rain” is about my daughter and how her finding me changed my life for the better.

Sometimes the most unexpected circumstance can spark artistic inspiration, as singer, songwriter and guitarist Albert Castiglia will attest. A grown daughter found Castiglia and introduced him to a family—complete with grandchildren—that he never knew he had.

Before they met in person, Castiglia sent his newfound daughter a letter telling her how happy he was to be her father, writing “I’ve been an artist for thirty years, but you’re my masterpiece!”

His latest album, Masterpiece, is both personal and provocative. Co-produced by longtime friend and colleague Mike Zito, the album also finds Castiglia reflecting on the disappointment and disconnect that’s gripped the nation in the past several years. His choice of Zito went far beyond their friendship.

Multiple award-winner Mike Zito (Song of the Year, Best Rock Blues Album, Best DVD, Best Rock Blues Artist, etc.), himself a performer and songwriter, says “I try to make every word count.” That mantra and his ability to tap into tradition while remaining contemporary put Masterpiece into the “Masterpiece” category. Zito told Elmore, “’Bring On The Rain’ is the culmination of the entire Masterpiece recording session. Albert had compelling lyrics about his newly-found daughter, and we just sat down together and let it all pour out. It’s 100% organic and pure Albert Castiglia, from the heart.”
