As a photographer who has traveled all over the world lugging camera equipment in backpacks, rollers, shoulder bags, hard cases, and the occasional suitcase in very awkward ways and sometimes with lots of damage, finally I’ve been turned on to the Think Tank Airport Advantage. It’s exactly what I need.

My normal travel equipment consists of two DSLRs, 24-70mm, 16-35mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm and 50mm lenses, an external hard drive, an iPad and a LumeCube panel (plus all chargers), and they all fit in—no problem—with space to spare, and the equipment is well-protected with no movement. I set up the inside of the Airport Advantage to my own needs very quickly, and can reconfigure it again when I change equipment.

When you’re traveling, the Airport Advantage gives you confidence that your camera equipment will fit in the overhead in the cabin of any airplane and will be safe from damage or loss. The dimensions which allow the bag to fit in even regional overhead compartments is obviously a significant consideration, but it’s so light and convenient that I am also using it as travel bag in the back of my car.

The bag is a nice gray color, but more important, it looks like a regular suitcase, and it does not bring attention that you are traveling with expensive camera equipment. The Airport Advantage comes with a very handy rain cover as well. It rolls very smoothly and does not fall over like many other bags.

I highly recommend the Think Tank Airport Advantage to any photographer who needs to get equipment safely and easily from place to place, whether by plane, train or auto—and then on foot through the terminal and down the street to a shoot. I may never call it “lugging” again.
