Premiere: The End Of America, from quarantine

Wait No More for stunning harmonies

L-R: James Downes, Brendon Thomas, Trevor Leonard

It’s a simple story: Three musicians met on the road, recognized kindred spirits, then joined their distinct lead vocals into captivating harmonies. Consistently compared to Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Philadelphia/NYC/New Hampshire trio credit their name to a concept in Jack Kerouac’s classic On The Road, a story of his travels in search of inspiration until he reached “the end of America, no more land, and now there was nowhere to go but back.”

The End of America—TEOA—(individually James Downes, Trevor Leonard and Brendon Thomas), were road dogs from the get-go. “Wait No More” might be the most overt representation of their passion, a song about being called to get up, get inspired, move and seek out adventure, but ironically, it might never have been written if not for quarantine, the curse of the restless. TEOA’s urgency to stay creative and keep moving forward hasn’t evaporated, and “Wait No More” captures the bands collective internal craving: “I gotta move. I gotta drive. Come with me, the night is alive.”

James Downes expressed it this way for Elmore: “We’re grateful to be sharing this with you all. The process of making this song was different for us. It was the first song we wrote over Zoom after the pandemic started. Its creation represents something special to me and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe it’s accepting your circumstances and working with the hand you’ve been dealt. Or maybe it’s a middle finger to all the things that are trying to hold you back. Maybe it’s a little of both. Whatever it is, we’re excited to share it with you.”

TEOA released three albums before their 2019 transition to releasing a song per month beginning June and continuing through December of that same year.
