It’s a brand new world! The newly-renovated Strand Theater re-opens with a special concert Thursday, August 19th, thanks to Plattsburgh Blues and Jazz (aka PB&J). Take a big gulp of blues with Mr. Sipp and a “Best Of” lineup at the “Sipp & Blues at the Strand” concert.

Since 2014, Mr. Sipp (born in Mississippi as Castro Coleman) has racked up consistent wins for “Best Guitarist,” “Entertainer of the Year,” “International Male Blues Artist” and several others, such as the Bobby Rush, Spirit of Little Walter and the Gibson Best Guitarist awards.

Supporting Sipp, Annika Chambers, (2019 Blues Music Award winner), Paul DesLauriers (Canada’s 2020 Winner for Guitarist of the Year) and saxophonist Jimmy Carpenter (2021 Blues Music Awards for Horn Player of the Year) and his band will perform.

Spend a day or two visiting the breathtaking Adirondack Mountains: visit the site of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics, go windsurfing, swimming or fishing on Lake Champlain (among other lakes) and visit Ausable Chasm or one of the many wineries and craft breweries in the area—then hear great blues at night.

Matching donations to ticket sales will also support local teacher Keith West, who recently suffered life-threatening injuries.
